It's evident that the Mount Kenya residents are suffering economically. The way they joined Moses Kuria and senator Murkomen in walking out of the BBI rally before the meeting ended, gives an indication that they are not ready for BBI referendum, before their economic crisis has been solved.
Not because they really love Moses Kuria,Senator Murkomen or Deputy president William Ruto, but because the so called Tanga Tanga has been singing the economic rescue songs that the mount Kenya residents want to hear and what they really support.
The Mountain residents have mostly been affected in agricultural products. These products are; milk, coffee, tea, fruits and vegetables. The products have been facing low price crisis.Knowing well agriculture is the economical backbone of the region.
Businesses have also been closed in major towns in the region, due to lack of customer. These businesses directly depends on the farmers, but the farmers have nothing in their pockets to buy even basic commodities.
During the last general election campaigns, president Uhuru Kenyatta promised the region,he would improve their economic standards when they support his Presidential bid and elect him to serve his last term in office, which they are yet to witness.
The delay of his promise has brought a lot of rebellion to the president in the region. While the love and support the region had towards the president have been slowly fading.
Some of the leaders in the region have been giving a deaf ear and a blind eye,to what the residents of the region are going through economically. The residents have vowed they will not support anything brought to them by the government and has no mission of improving their living standard.
President Uhuru should not listen from the region leaders, who some times lie him or they have no information or clear picture of how the ground is. Instead he should should listen from the residents.(This is from the ground) what they are going through, their opinion and intention toward the BBI.
